Shadia is a town and union council of Mianwali District in the Punjab province of Pakistan[1]. It is part of Mianwali Tehsil and is located at 32°22'46N 71°45'39E and has an altitude of 198 metres (652 ft)[2].
Village Shadia was famous for regular incidences of marriages, which took place in 18th century. Marriage processions from Wan Bhachhran, to various places of Bandial, Okhli Mohla, Jabbi Dhokri, and adjacent villages. Those marriage parties or processions stayed at the place where Shadia is situated. It was the hub for matrimonial ceremonies or staying place for Caravans, and marriage processions. There were sufficient fodder for animals and supply of food for human beings was available at all times. If you look at location of village, it falls between all villages up to 50 miles radii.
The dwellers of this village are mostly from Zameendars consisting of Janjua clan which are sub divided as Malu khel, Phato Khel, Mulke Khel, Mehrwan Khel, Anwar Khel, Azmat Khel, Aziz Khel, Sikandar Khel, Moosi, Laungi, and Bejaris etc.where as Awans (Chhate Khel, Nattal, Khidyal etc.) Sahnd, Bhachar and Paura are also prominent tribes. This village is famous for its Kino Orchards. After Sargodha the largest Kino Orchards are located here. Asias one of the oldest grave yard namely "Wanjhara" is also situated at Shadia.
